EAM Planning Electrical Contractor Certification Program

EAM Certification Program

July 14, 2017

The Electrical Association of Manitoba has established a committee to develop and implement an electrical contractor certification program. The goal is to promote the professionalism and image of electrical contractors, drive business to member companies, and help the association grow its membership.

Program criteria and details are in development. Contractors applying for certification would be required to meet a set of standards.

The program will be modelled after the highly successful RenoMark program of the Canadian and Manitoba Homebuilders Associations. RenoMark was established by the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) to identify professional contractors who have agreed to abide by a renovation-specific code of conduct. The RenoMark program has been endorsed by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and the Ontario Home Builders’ Association, and operates in nine provinces and more than 40 communities.
