EIN Flir GFCI 400

Feb 8, 2019

FLIR Systems, Inc. has announced the RT50, a GFCI receptacle tester designed for electricians, home or building inspectors, and do-it-yourselfers who need to verify or troubleshoot operation of three-wire receptacle circuits within residential and commercial buildings. The FLIR RT50 features a durable, ergonomic design, and smarter testing capabilities to quickly identify wiring issues and confirm correct wiring.

The FLIR RT50 is a “plug and play” pocket tool that can be used to zero in on problems faster and more accurately. Users can plug it into three-wire receptacles in 110-125 V AC circuits, GFCI outlets, and standard outlets wired in parallel. Additionally, users can plug into a series, for instance, multiple outlets in kitchens and bathrooms. Bright LED indicator lights inform the user that a circuit or outlet is wired correctly. With the RT50, users can confidently identify up to five possible wiring issues quickly, including:

  • Open Ground
  • Open Neutral
  • Open Hot
  • Hot & Ground Reversed
  • Hot & Neutral reverse

A double-sided indicator legend and wrap-around indicator LEDs make for easy viewing no matter the receptacle rotation.
