IDEAL Debuts New Digital Fish Tape

July 18, 2024

IDEAL Electrical is preparing electricians to meet their increasing workload by incorporating efficient, time-saving new technologies into its latest products. As the emphasis on electrification and renewable energy expands, an estimated 60% of households will need to upgrade their circuit breaker to fully electrify their home. The ongoing shortage of licensed electricians only increases the burden.

As demand for electrical services increases, the need for new products that simplify and expedite an electrician’s work is more critical than ever. In response to this need, IDEAL Electrical™ is pleased to introduce a new option to its fish tape lines that will save electricians time and effort on the job: BlueView digital readout. With a BlueView screen, electricians can view the precise length of tape they have fed, improving accuracy and efficiency. In addition, the new E-Class fish tape line expands the IDEAL portfolio of non-conductive fish tapes and features a glow-in-the-dark eyelet.

“We’re proud to offer fish tape products with industry-leading features such as a digital readout incorporated into the handle,” said Carmen Cardillo, General Manager, North America – IDEAL Electrical. “This technological advancement highlights our commitment to delivering electricians the superior quality, performance, and durability they’ve come to expect from IDEAL.”

HOW THE DIGITAL FISH TAPE WORKS

The launch of BlueView digital readout technology will enhance the existing Blued-Steel and S-Class® premium fish tape lines. With a BlueView digital screen integrated into the tape handle, electricians can easily observe the length of tape they have fed. This time-saving feature is very accurate (within 1ft), ensuring an electrician is always confident in the length of their run. The screen is also durable enough to withstand exposure to lubricants, debris, drops, and temperature extremes. BlueView is a versatile product that simplifies both new runs and troubleshooting old runs. Electricians will have the option to purchase 120’ Blued-Steel™ and 240’ Blued-Steel™ fish tape with a BlueView handle. BlueView technology will also be available in the IDEAL Electrical 100’ S-Class®fish tape model in fall 2024.

“With BlueView, we’ve achieved a market-leading evolution in fish tape technology that makes electricians’ jobs easier,” said Trevor Fildes, Product Manager at IDEAL Electrical. “An electrician using BlueView can quickly and easily determine the length of the run for wire needs and find locations of hang-ups during installation.”

NEW FIBERGLASS E-CLASS FISH TAPE OFFERS ELECTRICIANS FLEXIBILITY

Another new addition to the IDEAL Electrical fish tape lineup is E-Class Fiberglass fish tape. This fish tape provides 350lbs of tensile strength at a competitive price. The E-Class™ design features a unique, glow-in-the dark molded eyelet that makes it easy to spot the end of the tape in dark jobsites. The high-quality fiberglass core provides great strength and pushing power, while the nylon round jacket offers extra durability and a smooth surface for navigating complex runs.

Like other IDEAL Electrical fish tape lines, E-Class fish tape also includes a Tuff-Grip Pro handle that enhances durability as well as a scannable QR-code that links to detailed operation instructions and a user guide. The E-Class fiberglass fish tape is nonconductive up to 1000V and is offered in 100’ and 200’ lengths.

IDEAL Electrical is proud to expand its electrical fish tape options with the innovative BlueView digital screen and the E-Class line. IDEAL Electrical remains committed to developing performance-driven and trade-focused solutions for the modern electrician.
