Rittal’s Flange Mount Disconnect: Saving Lives

Rittal

April 6, 2018

When a company is concerned about incorporating arcflash cabinets into its facilities, we offer some advice that can save lives!

Rittal’s Flange Mount Disconnect interlock system is the only one that complies with the UL508A rule: which means simply that if a secondary door is open, the main door cannot be closed and the switch cannot be reset.

The costs related to many accidents of an electrical nature, are very expensive; leading to loss of production, fines, civil suits, etc. By explaining these differences in security standards, the price of so-called “economic” cabinets is no longer as interesting to businesses.

If a technician must still perform live tests, he can unlock our interlock temporarily and then restart it.

Thank you for sharing with your employees and customers, as safety training.

This is the only Flange Mount Disconnect in the market right now that is UL508A approved, and can literally save lives: https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/1879130/Rittal_FlangeMountpdf.pdf?utm_content=69661350&utm_medium=social&utm_source=linkedin
