Alberta continues to lead the country with the highest hourly rate for electrical contractors, followed closely by Manitoba. New Brunswick has the lowest hourly rate.

Value of Building Permits Rose 6.2% in June
The $687 million Oakridge Centre mixed use redevelopment project in the city of Vancouver helped raise the total national value of building permits 6.2% to $8.1 billion in June, to a level comparable to pre-COVID levels. Overall, seven provinces reported gains for the month.
EFC’s Business Sections: Positive Action on T0251 Enclosure IP Ratings – Canadian Electrical Code
A proposal to amend the Canadian Electrical Code Part I for Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings for enclosures treated as equal in acceptance to CSA Type ratings has been voted down with the support of EFC members as well as CE Code committee members and sent back to the Sub-committee for further discussion and review.
