Gerrie Electric Annouces Three Appointments to its Executive Team

As Gerrie Electric celebrates 65 years in business as a Canadian, family owned, certified WBE, platinum level Best Managed distributor of Electrical, Automation, and Lighting serving the Ontario market, the Gerrie Executive is excited to share the next evolution of their Executive Team putting in the building blocks for the succession for Richard Solonenko’s (CFO & EVP Operations) eminent and Carmen Stewart’s (CMO & EVP Sales) future retirements.

The Gerrie family is committed to a long-term future focused on growth and expansion. These additions to the Executive Team are effective April 3rd 2023 and position the company for continued success with all of their valued partners and employees.

Gerrie
Jonathan Kwant EVP eCommerce, Marketing, and Vendor Strategy

Jonathan Kwant is appointed to the role of Executive Vice President of eCommerce, Marketing, and Vendor Strategy. Jonathan has been employed with the company since 2004 and has held various roles such as Electrical Counter and Inside Sales, Account Management as well as assisted in the expansion to their second 2nd Hamilton location and then most recently as Director of Strategic Transformation with a focus on digital transformation, lead generation and various vendor initiatives. In his new role, Jonathan is responsible for the leadership of the eCommerce and Marketing teams as well as engagement in their vendor strategies and alignments.

Joanna Kwant
Joanna Kwant, EVP of Sales

Joanna Kwant is appointed to the role of Executive Vice President of Sales. Joanna has been employed with Gerrie Electric since 2006 and has held a variety of roles during her tenure including Lighting Studio Sales, Marketing, Electrical Counter Sales, Account Management and most recently as Director of Strategic Transformation focused on the development of their new pricing strategy and enhancing Gerrie’s sales strategy and model to meet their customers’ evolving needs. In her new role she will be responsible for the Sales Organization. Her vision and focus on their sales strategy will drive success for all of their employees, customers, and key vendor partners.

Taylor Gerrie is appointed to the role of Executive Vice President of Operations. Taylor has been employed with Gerrie Electric since 2008 and has held various roles in Electrical Counter Sales, Automation Inside Technical Sales, Automation Account Specialist, Distribution Centre Operations and most recently as Director of Strategic Transformation focused on the sourcing and implementation of their new data analytics and reporting platform and automation of the new Distribution Centre driving efficiencies, streamlined processes and delivering the Perfect Order. In his new role Taylor will be responsible for the operations of the DC and Logistics business.

As the company continues to grow and expand, the above changes to their leadership team are part of the evolution to support their growth strategy and future succession planning. Heather and Elaine Gerrie will continue in their roles of Co-Presidents and CEO’s.
