TSBC: 2024 Canadian Electrical Code Impact Assessment

February 7, 2024

From February 5 to February 23, Technical Safety BC will be hosting a public consultation to gather feedback on the impact of adopting the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code (CE Code) into BC regulation. The input collected through this consultation will help TSBC draft a recommendation to the Ministry of Housing on its suitability for provincial adoption.

What’s different about this consultation

This consultation is part of a ‘pilot’ approach to streamline TSBC’sconsultation processes, increase speed of adoption in BC, and align closer to the CE Code implementation cycle. To expedite this consultation, TSBC are asking for feedback to be given digitally over the course of three weeks.

Recommendation

That the Province adopt the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code without variation from the national level. A list of the key impacts of the changes can be accessed in the Important Documents section on the right. The complete list of changes to the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code can be accessed through the CSA or through education and training providers.

Following completion of consultation, there will be a “What We Heard Report” published HERE.
