Case Study: Andrew Peller Winery – Industrial Shock Block SB5000 Offers Maximum Personnel Protection

Andrew Peller Winery, a Canadian company, has been crafting quality wines for over 50 years.

Winemaking facilities typically create damp environments due to the nature of the business. Recognizing there could be a potential hazard with personnel and electrical cables in these wet environments, Peller Winery took a proactive approach to ensure their employees were protected from possible electrical shock.

Glenn Blanchard, Peller Winery Electrical Lead, stated, “We take safety seriously, so we wanted to invest in the best protective equipment.”

Application

When introduced to the Littelfuse Shock Block SB5000, Peller Winery decided to implement the product to increase safety. They installed one Shock Block GFCI 3-phase 600 V unit in their production facility. After a six-month trial, the customer said the SB5000 “met all their expectations.”

Outcome

As a result of the outstanding performance of the SB5000, Peller Winery is planning to purchase additional units for their other facilities. They are working with the Littelfuse technical sales team to identify electrical loads and locations that could benefit from having 3-phase GFCI protection. “It’s all about making our facilities as safe as possible,” said Blanchard. “We are pleased with the Littelfuse SB5000 performance and reliability, and the company is looking to apply the technology in other areas of their operations for the safety of our employees.”
