What to do: Immediately stop using the recalled products, contact Unison Ridge for instructions on how to uninstall and return them to any Home Hardware store for a refund.
This recall involves three white coloured models of Electrical Devices Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) safety outlets with plates sold at Home Hardware in Canada. The affected products have the letters “TR” stamped on the front and the letters “LGL” embossed on the back. The item number is located on the bottom left of the front of the product packaging. The model number is located on the bottom left of the product and may only be visible by removing the decorative wall plate. The UPC is located on the product packaging, either on the bottom near the bar code or on a side sticker.

Issue
The terminal screws on the product may not tighten properly, which may create an increase in temperature, posing a fire hazard.
As of July 9, 2025, the company has received 812 reports of screws that were faulty, stripped or unable to be tightened, one report of fire resulting in property damage, and no reports of injuries in Canada.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Unison Ridge for instructions on how to uninstall the GFCI safety outlets and return them to any Home Hardware store for a refund.
