IES Toronto Fundamentals of Lighting Fall Session October 23rd, 24th and 25th 2026

Fundamentals of Lighting is a tailor-made introductory course comprised of 10 full sessions of instructions for those in the fields of lighting design, electrical engineering, building construction, product support agencies and distribution.

For a Certificate to be issued by the IES Toronto Section, the student must have full classroom scheduled attendance and successfully complete a post course final exam as well as submit an essay assignment. These will be provided with submission schedule at end of final day.

  • Module 2 Electric Light Sources
  • Module 3 Daylighting
  • Module 4 Luminaires
  • Module 5 Lighting Controls
  • Module 6 Metrics, Photometry, Calculations, and Rendering
  • Module 7 Codes, Standards and Practice
  • Module 8 Lighting For Interior Environments
  • Module 9 Lighting for Exterior Environments
  • Module 10 Review

Limited Enrollment – Maximum 30 students
