Sonepar Accelerates its Digitalization by Deploying Data and AI Platform, Delivering Personalized Customer Experience

October 1, 2026

Supported by Onepoint group, Sonepar is accelerating its digital transformation through artificial intelligence. A unique, worldwide Data & AI platform, enables the Group to modernize its supply chain, anticipate demand with unparalleled accuracy, and deliver a personalized customer experience.

A strategic project in a fast-growing market

Operating in 40 countries with nearly 90 brands, 180 distribution centers and 46,000 associates, Sonepar generated more than €33 billion in revenue in 2025, including €11 billion through digital channels. In such a broad international environment, with an extremely diverse product range and a constant pressure on supply chain, data-driven management is a key performance lever. The Group has therefore engaged in a profound transformation to anticipate demand with unmatched precision and offer its customers a personalized experience.

A Data & AI platform to industrialize the use of AI at Group scale

With Onepoint’s support, Sonepar initiated the creation of a global, one-of-a-kind Data & AI platform to support its omnichannel strategy. This platform serves as the technological base for all Group subsidiaries.  Designed to orchestrate data at scale, the platform continuously analyzes sales, customer histories, and logistics flows. Thanks to this new architecture, almost the whole Group —95% of revenue— now benefits from predictive models. These models can precisely adjust stock levels, improve forecast reliability, and enhance product availability in a market where speed is a decisive competitive advantage.

Three use cases highlight the tangible value of AI at Sonepar

  • Personalized product recommendations: by analyzing purchasing habits and histories, Sonepar proposes items perfectly aligned with customers’ real needs, boosting conversion and satisfaction.
  • Automatic email categorization: this innovation improves the efficiency of Sonepar’s sales teams by prioritizing requests and reducing the risk of error.
  • Carbon data calculation: through extrapolations based on product characteristics, Sonepar enriches CO₂ measurement to encourage responsible choices and support its sustainability objectives.

“AI is a truly strategic lever for Sonepar, enabling us to combine commercial performance, operational excellence, and sustainability. Thanks to Onepoint’s expertise, Sonepar is deploying the first global Data & AI platform, the largest and most innovative in its industry. We are delighted to work with a partner with whom we share the essential values that will contribute to making this transformation a success: expertise, agility, and a strong capacity for innovation.” commented Jérémie Profeta, Chief Transformation Officer and member of Sonepar’s Executive Committee.

Onepoint’s role

Onepoint played a key part in the design and deployment of this unique, foundational AI platform. The firm supported the modernization of existing data infrastructures, secured production environments, defined the target architecture, and orchestrated the progressive migration to a unified platform based on Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry. Building on its Data Platform approach, Onepoint also structured the data governance and industrialized the first AI use cases at an international scale.

“We are particularly proud to support Sonepar in this project, as it fully reflects what makes us unique: our ability to successfully lead large-scale data and AI transformations in complex, highly industrialized international environments. Being able to work end-to-end, from designing the platform to integrating it into business processes, is becoming a key competitiveness factor for companies. And it is precisely in this area that we accompany our clients” added Nicolas Bonnerot, Partner at Onepoint.

The first milestone of an accelerating AI roadmap

Fortified by these first successes, Sonepar now intends to accelerate the rollout of new use cases, especially around personalized product recommendations, advanced inventory optimization, and support for sales teams. The Group is also working to gradually integrate ESG criteria into its decision-making processes to reconcile economic performance with environmental responsibility. The Data & AI platform, designed and deployed with the combined expertise of Onepoint and Sonepar, is thus establishing itself as a strategic lever to support the Group’s growth and decisively and sustainably strengthen its competitiveness on a global scale.
