Hydro Ottawa Earns Top Employer Nod for Ninth Straight Year

April 16, 2017

Hydro Ottawa continues its record as a top National Capital Region employer this year as a result of its ongoing commitment to employee, workplace and community engagement.

The annual competition, which forms part of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes the region’s most exceptional places to work by identifying those employers that lead in attracting and retaining employees.

Hydro Ottawa places an emphasis on its company culture through initiatives aimed at strengthening internal innovation and communication, community outreach and volunteering, and preparing for a highly skilled, diverse, and sustainable workforce for years to come.

Competition participants are evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria as the national competition: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.

Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
