Power management company Eaton has announced that the company will be educating builders and contractors about the booming smart home device market at the International Builders’ Show. Industry research shows that the global market for these devices – not including major appliances – is expected to be $9.4 billion by 2021.

Reducing ‘Range Anxiety’ for Electric Vehicles by Speeding Up Charging Time

 

Range anxiety — the fear that an electric vehicle’s charge will deplete before reaching its destination — has long been cited as a reason consumers are reluctant to embrace electric vehicles (EVs). This anxiety is compounded by the fact that EVs usually take much longer to charge than it takes to fill up a tank of gasoline on a traditional vehicle, prohibiting long distance travel for EVs, especially to areas without charging infrastructure along the way.

Québec-New Hampshire Interconnection Project Gets Government Green Light

 

The Québec government has granted the authorizations needed to carry out the Québec–New Hampshire interconnection project, which calls for the construction of a 320-kV direct-current transmission line about 80 km long that will be extended into the U.S. to connect Des Cantons substation in Val-Joli to Franklin substation in southern New Hampshire.
