Sonepar Accelerates its Digitalization by Deploying Data and AI Platform, Delivering Personalized Customer Experience

Supported by Onepoint group, Sonepar is accelerating its digital transformation through artificial intelligence. A unique, worldwide Data & AI platform, enables the Group to modernize its supply chain, anticipate demand with unparalleled accuracy, and deliver a personalized customer experience. 

A strategic project in a fast-growing market 

Operating in 40 countries with nearly 90 brands, 180 distribution centers and 46,000 associates, Sonepar generated more than €33 billion in revenue in 2025, including €11 billion through digital channels. In such a broad international environment, with an extremely diverse product range and a constant pressure on supply chain, data-driven management is a key performance lever. The Group has therefore engaged in a profound transformation to anticipate demand with unmatched precision and offer its customers a personalized experience. 

A Data & AI platform to industrialize the use of AI at Group scale 

With Onepoint’s support, Sonepar initiated the creation of a global, one-of-a-kind Data & AI platform to support its omnichannel strategy. This platform serves as the technological base for all Group subsidiaries.  Designed to orchestrate data at scale, the platform continuously analyzes sales, customer histories, and logistics flows. Thanks to this new architecture, almost the whole Group —95% of revenue— now benefits from predictive models. These models can precisely adjust stock levels, improve forecast reliability, and enhance product availability in a market where speed is a decisive competitive advantage. 

Three use cases highlight the tangible value of AI at Sonepar 

  • Personalized product recommendations: by analyzing purchasing habits and histories, Sonepar proposes items perfectly aligned with customers’ real needs, boosting conversion and satisfaction. 
  • Automatic email categorization: this innovation improves the efficiency of Sonepar’s sales teams by prioritizing requests and reducing the risk of error. 
  • Carbon data calculation: through extrapolations based on product characteristics, Sonepar enriches CO₂ measurement to encourage responsible choices and support its sustainability objectives.

Onepoint’s role 

Onepoint played a key part in the design and deployment of this unique, foundational AI platform. The firm supported the modernization of existing data infrastructures, secured production environments, defined the target architecture, and orchestrated the progressive migration to a unified platform based on Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry. Building on its Data Platform approach, Onepoint also structured the data governance and industrialized the first AI use cases at an international scale.
