Navigating Tariffs: Practical Strategies for ECABC Members

April 18, 2025

Canadian businesses are facing uncertain and unprecedented risks created by tariffs on Canadian goods from the United States.

The combination of the economic impact to BC’s economy from these tariffs, and the potential increase in the cost of construction materials and equipment as Canada is forced to respond with retaliatory tariffs, has the potential to significantly impact BC trade contractors.

ECABC has worked with McMillan LLP to develop a valuable resource and guidance document, Navigating Tariffs: Practical Strategies for ECABC Members, to help their members navigate the current economic uncertainty and pricing challenges associated with U.S. tariffs.

Although the precise nature and extent of these impacts remains to be seen, it is crucial for ECABC members to proactively evaluate their agreements to understand how these measures might affect both current and future projects.

You can access the resource and guidance document here.
