Record Attendance Marks Strong Return for MEET 2026
Dr. Forest Flager, Parspec, presenting at the MEET seminar

The Mechanical Electrical Electronic Technology (MEET) show saw a powerful return to Moncton, NB on May 6-7, setting a new attendance record with 7,532 participants attending the two-day event. The biennial show, now in its 26th edition, is touted as the premier industry trade show in the region featuring the latest equipment, cutting-edge technology, informative seminars, and industry networking opportunities.

Day 1 kicked off at the Moncton Coliseum with pre-registration numbers already exceeding the 2024 show. Throughout the day, the venue was buzzing with attendees chatting with exhibitors about the latest products and technology on display.

As one of the presenting associations, EFC was proud to sponsor our MEET seminar speaker, Dr. Forest Flager, CEO of Parspec. Forest presented on the topic of โ€˜AIโ€™s Role in Transforming Electrical Materials Supply Chainโ€™ and how AI is transforming the electrical materials supply chain from quote to submittals and beyond. He explained how AI can extract project requirements from drawings and specs, streamline workflows, and synthesize data to improve decision-making and customer satisfaction. Forest presented on both days of the trade show.

The 2026 Innovation Awards is also a key highlight at the MEET show. These awards recognize innovative products in the industry. One award is given out by each of MEETโ€™s sponsoring associations. EFCโ€™s MEET show committee members are pleased to recognize this yearโ€™s recipient: Explor.aiโ€™s estimation software, Estim.ai. An AI takeoff assistant built for construction estimating, Estim.ai uses artificial intelligence to detect materials and quantities, and automatically creates a quantity slip. It reads PDF plans, detects and classifies construction symbols directly on drawings, and converts what used to be manual โ€œhunt-and-countโ€ work into a structured bill of quantities in minutes. Congratulations to Benoit Carle and team at Explor.ai for winning the 2026 Innovation Award!

Day 2 also saw large crowds with attendees visiting booths and having informative discussions on the latest equipment and trends in the industry.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to EFCโ€™s MEET show committee members for their time and commitment to ensuring the success of this yearโ€™s show. They are Geoff Cormier, Next Sales and Marketing; Scott Gordon, Robertson Electric; and Josh Neave, Munden Enterprises. Also a special thank you to Marketplace Events who organized another great edition of MEET.

Thank you to all participants for attending and we are already looking forward to 2028!
