Eaton High-Performing Ambient LED Luminaire

LDS Eaton

Eaton’s new Metalux Cruze LED Luminaire provides a high-performing, energy-efficient and affordable ambient solution to commercial offices, schools, hospitals and retail projects. Featuring a contemporary styling and Eaton’s advanced LED technology, the luminaire provides energy savings of over 50% when compared to traditional fluorescent troffer products typically found in these applications.

“The Cruze luminaire’s highly efficient LED system with advanced optical design provides our customers with optimal light uniformity while delivering a high performance efficacy up to 132 lumens per watt,” says Mark Eubanks, President, Eaton’s Lighting Division. “It’s ideal for both retrofit and new construction projects and with a projected life of 60,000 hours, paybacks can be as low as two years.”

The Cruze product line is offered in 1-foot by 4-feet, 2-feet by 2-feet and 2-feet by 4-feet recessed sizes with four lens options including
• ribbed frosted acrylic lens
• smooth frosted acrylic lens
• square pattern insert
• round pattern insert

The luminaires are available in 3000 Kelvin (K), 3500K, 4000K and 5000K color temperatures at a typical 85 color rendering index. Four stocked lumen packages are offered with an additional 12 made-to-order options. The luminaires feature a lightweight 3.25-inch shallow housing and tool-less hinged door access for easy installation along with optional field install surface mount kits.

The Metalux Cruze luminaire is available with an optional integrated sensor control system, optimized to meet energy codes for occupancy sensing and daylight harvesting in smaller ambient spaces. Factory-wired offering out-of-the-box operation for easy installation, the control system switches the lighting on or off based on occupancy and dims the light when enough daylight is available. The system reduces time and complexity with no additional wiring and adds light control without commissioning. The sensor system achieves the lowest installed cost compared to traditional control product alternatives.

The Cruze luminaire is equipped with a zero to 10 volt continuous dimming driver for easy and flexible integration with lighting control panels, occupancy sensors, daylighting and room controllers. The luminaire is also available with a native Fifth Light Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) driver option for complete digital energy management.
