Leviton announced the launch of a new line of smart touchless wallbox occupancy sensors. The new product line, Smart Wallbox Sensors, are designed for easy, out-of-the-box operation, minimizing contact, and simplifying installation. The sleek design, paired with a wide range of features allows for energy savings, local control, and code compliance.

“These Smart Wallbox Sensors combine a full complement of room control functions in a single wall mounted device. Minimizing time, touch, and complexity is critically important in our new way of working, and our new smart sensors do just that,” said Tom Leonard, vice president of controls at Leviton. “With additional capabilities built into each sensor, the new sensors will replace several legacy models to greatly simplify product selection. With increased functionality built into every device, just a few models take the place of several specialty devices, and actually cover a broader range of applications.”

The flagship of this new line is the Smart PIR Dimming Wallbox Sensor which includes a 24V low voltage model. The sensors combine occupancy/vacancy sensing with dimming and daylight response, as well as adjustable partial-on and partial-off capabilities to further enhance energy savings and tailor operation to precisely meet the needs of each application.

To simplify setup, pushbutton access to eight of the most popular operational settings is available by simply removing the interchangeable cover. These covers are available in the full range of Leviton device colors to match other wiring devices in the space. As an added feature, all models in this new line include an adjustable RGB nightlight with 12 color choices to match a wide variety of settings and applications.

The Smart Sensor App enables easy adjustment of all device settings including operating mode, sensitivity, timeouts, daylight response, nightlight, security codes, and a range of other features directly from a Bluetooth-enabled Android or iOS device.

In addition, the new sensors feature an improved field-of-view for enhanced minor motion detection to eliminate false OFFs. The Smart Wallbox Sensors can be used to comply with IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and 2019 Title 24, Part 6 occupancy/vacancy sensing and dimming (ODD10/ODD24) or manual control (ODS15) requirements.
