Manitoba Joins Alberta in Promoting Professional Electrical Contractor Designation

EAM

Beginning in early 2016, the Electrical Association of Manitoba will be offering the Professional Electrical Contractor program. Developed in Alberta, this program provides customized training for electrical contractors leading to the PEC designation.
A Professional Electrical Contractor (P.E.C.) is a Certified (CME) or Registered (RME) Master Electrician taking out electrical permits on behalf of a person/firm engaged in electrical contracting and who has successfully completed the course work and examinations required by the professional education program.

The purpose of the program is to make technically trained master electricians better informed electrical contractors and build business.

The six core courses include:
• Accounting Principles
• Business & Public Relations
• Assessing & Finalizing the Tender
• Legal Implications
• PEC Project Mgt
• Safety Principles

All courses are custom designed for the electrical contractor. Course offerings in Manitoba will be announced in the near future. Find out more about the Alberta program: www.ecaa.ab.ca/pec_program.aspx.
