ERTH Corporation President and CEO to Retire

Jeffrey Pettit has announced his intention to retire this year as ERTH Corporation’s President and CEO once a successor is chosen. Pettit has been the company’s chief executive officer since the company was founded in August 2000. ERTH is owned by eight southwestern Ontario municipalities and owns a local distribution company, Erie Thames Powerlines.

Pettit joined Ingersoll PUC, one of ERTH’s predecessor organizations, in 1992 as Treasurer. ERTH (formerly known as Erie Thames Power) was formed as a result of restructuring of Ontario’s electric distribution sector by Queens Park.

“It has been an honour to lead ERTH Corp these past 16 years. I am proud of my role in founding ERTH Corp and what we have accomplished in the intervening years. It has been my great privilege to work with an exceptionally dedicated and skilled team of executives and staff and along this journey we have accomplished much,” says Pettit.

“We have built companies, provided local jobs, made huge contributions to our communities and provided a lasting benefit for our municipal shareholders that they would not otherwise have. I leave ERTH Corp knowing that it is very operationally sound and positioned for greater success. There are challenges ahead but the opportunities for ERTH Corporation are even larger.”

ERTH’s Board of Directors has begun the search for a permanent successor. A committee has been appointed to begin the search process for a successor.
