SolaTrim LLC Signs Canadian Distribution Agreement with Sentinel Solar

SolaTrim signs with Sentinel Solar

SolaTrim’s new agreement with Sentinel Solar marks a significant increase in market reach for the SolaTrim product in Canada. Sentinel Solar has offices in Concord, ON and Calgary, AB.

SolaTrim’s protective barrier system for rooftop solar arrays protects the array from pests, debris and other environmental threats, increasing the attractiveness of arrays while reducing service and warranty calls. Sentinel Solar has been servicing the Canadian solar industry for more than a decade.

With the addition of the SolaTrim protective barriers, Sentinel Solar can now offer residential solar system integrators and installers a solution to meet the addenda to the Canadian Electrical Code that requires any photovoltaic source circuits installed on a building or rooftop where the system requires arc fault that is not module level, to be protected from rodents. SolaTrim’s coated aluminum protective barriers meet the demands of the Code right out of the box, providing a protective metal barrier that is aesthetically pleasing and designed to last for the life of the solar system.

“Canada is a growing market for residential solar systems,” says Bob Smith, co-founder and President of SolaTrim. “By establishing this new relationship with one of the largest solar distributors in Canada, we anticipate SolaTrim to gain more prominence in the Canadian and North American solar market.

“There are defined Canadian solar installations which are now required to include some form of barrier protection against intrusion from pests. SolaTrim, specifically designed to protect and beautify rooftop solar systems, meets the Canadian Electrical Code specification requiring rodent guards, while it also prevents damage from winter ice dams and snow loads. There isn’t a protective barrier better suited to Canadian residential solar installations.”

SolaTrim is an all-weather aluminum barrier stiffened by design to resist warping or bending and diamond-stamped to facilitate airflow. The SolaTrim panels come with a peel-and-stick adhesive that attaches permanently to the solar frame and requires no screws, clips or fasteners that could negatively affect the system’s appearance or the solar module manufacturers’ warranty. The adhesive has been tested to withstand extreme weather conditions and is designed to last for the life of the solar system to permanently prevent birds and rodents from nesting under the solar array.
