TechnoCentre éolien Forges Ahead with Federal Support

August 9, 2016

The TechnoCentre éolien (TCE) will receive $3 million from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. This financial support, which will cover the fiscal years 2016 to 2019, will allow TCE to continue to fulfill its role as a catalyst in the Quebec wind energy industry.

With this financial aid, TCE will maintain and increase its activities related to research and innovation, developing world-class expertise in Quebec in the field of renewable energies, and supporting the business growth of SMEs in the sector.

“Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions is a key partner for TCE,” says Frédéric Côté, TCE General Manager. “Now more than ever, renewable energy sectors represent the path of the future in terms of energy development.

“The commitments made at COP21 bear witness to the fact that the new economy will be based on the growth of green energies and the battle against climate change,” continues Côté. “The federal government has made this issue a priority and we are pleased to be able to make our own contribution to building a sustainable economy that revolves around clean technologies, a green infrastructure and environmentally-responsible jobs.”

TCE currently comprises over 25 employees and hosts approximately 20 college and university interns every year.
