Call for Papers: Electricity, Distribution, Information Systems and Technology Conference and Expo

August 10, 2016

This 2 1⁄2 day event, taking place January 18-20, 2017 in Markham, Ontario, brings together key decision makers from the industry in interactive, informative expositions. First round submission deadline for proposals: August 29.

Since the 1990’s, the Electricity, Distribution, Information Systems and Technology (EDIST) Conference and Exhibition has established a presence in the electricity sector. The theme for 2017 is Rethinking the Industry — Preparing for the Tipping Point.

Ontario’s electricity market is rapidly shifting arising from a combination of policy, technological and customer changes. The sector is being moulded by several forces including rising customer prices, LDC consolidations, introduction of climate change legislation, financial constraints, smart grid innovation and disruptive technologies. LDCs are getting ready for the tipping point when all of these initiatives unfold, changing the landscape drastically. These changes will be addressed by sessions in the event’s two tracks: engineering and operations, and information technology and systems.
