Eaton Recalls 30A General Duty Switches That May Cause Overheating

Eaton has announced a voluntary recall of 30 Amp General Duty 2 and 3 pole switches with catalogue numbers beginning with the following sequences: CDG221, CDG321.

The catalogue number and date code can be found on the shipping label as shown in the photo.

Hazard: the line/load lugs may cause terminal overheating or allow wires to dislodge. This issue is limited to units produced between May 3 and July 19, 2016.

There have been no reported incidents or injuries. These switches were distributed from May 3, 2016 to July 22, 2016.

Return any affected units to Eaton Canada for repair and/or replacement. For units that cannot be returned, a field repair kit is available from Eaton Canada.
