Wright Award, and six electrical contracting firms have received R. H. Carroll safety awards. L-R: Ove Bakmund, ECAO First Vice-President Mark Lloyd, and President Dan Lancia.

The Douglas J. B. Wright Award, created by ECAO and Ontario Electrical Construction Co. Ltd. in 1992, pays tribute to individuals who exemplify the dedication and commitment to the electrical contracting industry exhibited by Doug Wright through his years of service.

Ove immigrated to Canada from his native Denmark in the mid-1960s. Already an electrician, he joined the IBEW and in 1976 founded Net Electric with two partners. Ove has worked hard to strengthen the electrical industry and has played a strong role on many boards and committees. He has been President and VP, and a member of GTECA Board or Directors. He has served on ECAO’s Board of Directors since 2005 and worked on numerous committees.
