Four Electrical Industry Organizations Earn “Canada’s Safest Employers” Awards

Techmation Electric & Controls, Toronto Hydro, Burlington Hydro, and New Brunswick Hydro are among the winners of six “Canada’s Safest Employers” Awards.

The awards are presented by Canadian Occupational Safety magazine.

The national awards program recognizes companies with outstanding accomplishments in promoting the health and safety of their workers. The awards cover 10 industry-specific categories.

Companies are judged on a wide range of occupational health and safety elements, including employee training, health and safety management systems, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and innovative health and safety initiatives.

The awards portfolio also includes a Wellness Award, Psychological Safety Award, Young Worker Safety Award and the top prize of them all, Canada’s Best Health + Safety Culture Award.

Award winners include the following:

  • Techmation Electric & Controls — gold, Young Worker Safety category; silver, Canada’s Best Health and Safety Culture category
  • PowerStream — gold medals in both the Utilities and Wellness categories
  • Toronto Hydro and Burlington Hydro — silver in the Utilities category 
  • NB Power — gold in the Psychological Safety category
