Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN) Names Sundeep Chauhan as Chair

The Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN) has appointed Sundeep Chauhan from the Motion Picture Association – Canada (MPA-Canada) as its new chair, serving a two-year term.

This appointment was made following CACN’s Annual General Meeting, held today in Toronto. Outgoing chair Terry Hunter (CSA Group) will remain on CACN’s Steering Committee as Vice-Chair. Electro-Federation Canada’s Cherith Sinasac will continue to serve in her role as Secretariat for CACN.

CACN is a coalition of individuals, businesses and associations that have united in the fight against product counterfeiting, fraud and copyright piracy in Canada and abroad. Sundeep is Vice-President & Senior Counsel – Global Content Protection with MPA-Canada, where he is responsible for implementing multi-jurisdictional content protection and litigation strategies.

Designated by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Certified Specialist (Intellectual Property: Copyright), Sundeep has more than 15 years of experience in content protection, investigations, legal and government affairs representing creative industries and intellectual property owners. Sundeep is often called on to appear before governmental departments and Parliamentary Committees on matters related to intellectual property. He has also been involved in numerous criminal and civil intellectual property protection cases in Canada and abroad.
