Irma Wind Farm Applies to AESO for Transmission System Access

Irma Wind Farm Ltd. (Irma Wind) has applied to the Alberta Electric System Operator for transmission system access to connect its proposed wind generating facility (Facility) in the Irma area. Irma Wind’s request can be met by the following solution:

  • Modify the existing Buffalo Creek 526S substation, including adding a 138 kilovolt (kV) circuit breaker and associated equipment
  • Add approximately 15 kilometres of 138 kV transmission line to connect the Facility to the Buffalo Creek 526S substation
