The energy storage technology landscape in the Southeast of the United States continues to build momentum and forge a path for continued growth of the energy storage markets, policy and technology. While the Southeastern United States has not typically been a first adopter of energy storage, it is positioned to be an extremely successful close follower by studying projects that have occurred elsewhere in the U.S. and internationally. To build on the continued momentum, Southern Research will host the upcoming Southeast Energy Storage Symposium in Birmingham, AL, on September 27-28, 2017.

CSA Group is poised to serve as a guide for manufacturers, project developers, financiers, and utilities on how they can meet safety requirements and operational metrics. CSA Group’s Ryan Franks will participate on a panel on September 28th discussing various perspectives, benefits, challenges, and trends related to grid integration, testing, modeling and simulation of grid-scale energy storage systems. “The energy storage industry will continue to collectively solve problems and make headways just as it has always done,” states Mr. Franks, “I am very excited to see energy storage’s increased prominence in the Southeast given the renewable and market potential.”
