Technical Safety BC

September 21, 2017

BC Safety Authority has announced that it is adopting a new operating name and identity. From now on, BC Safety Authority will be known as “Technical Safety BC.”

“We have evolved extensively since becoming an independent organization in 2004, and today we are adopting a new identity that reflects the progress we have made toward becoming the trusted partner in technical safety,” said Catherine Roome, President and CEO. “Our new identity will help distinguish us from other regulators as we continue to build awareness, understanding, and ownership of safety responsibilities among our clients and stakeholders.”

The identity change comes following extensive consultation with clients and industry stakeholders. It reflects the move toward becoming a knowledge and data-driven organization that uses smart systems and processes, predictive analytics, education, and knowledge sharing to operate more efficiently, prevent incidents, and enhance safety.

“The Board of Directors fully supports this opportunity for Technical Safety BC to increase the understanding and ownership of safety responsibilities in our clients, partners and the public,” said George Abbott, Chair of the Board of Directors. “This is the next step for an organization that is increasingly agile and innovative, constantly learning and adapting to evaluate and manage risk.”
