Legrand Adds Stainless Steel Safety Switches to its Line of Production & Processing Industry Solutions

Legrand Safety Switch

Legrand announced the launch of a new series of 316-Grade Stainless Steel Safety Switches designed for use in harsh environments like food and beverage processing plants, industrial facilities, amongst other applications where wash-down/hose-down procedures and adverse environments are part of normal operating conditions.

As part of the Pass & Seymour product line, the new series of stainless steel switches are available in both standard and sloped-roof designs and offer water- and dust-tight enclosures rated NEMA 4X/12 and IP66/67/69 for protection against high-pressure, high-temperature washdown applications. The corrosion-resistant switches are available in 30A, 60A, 60A high horse power, and 100A configurations that can accommodate up to three sets of auxiliary contacts for control circuit applications.

Legrand’s new Stainless Steel Safety switches are NSF certified delivering the highest level of sanitation and hygiene and offer a range of features designed to promote reliability, personal safety and maximum protection against corrosion in any environment.  These include:

  • No labels on cover, stamped-in ON/OFF
  • Type 316 Stainless Steel Housing (14-gauge type)
  • Inability to remove cover when in ON position (tamper resistant)
  • High-visibility yellow and red handles to meet OSHA lockout/tagout requirements
  • ¾” standoffs on mounting feet that allow for run off behind the enclosure
  • Compact footprint allowing it to be mounted in tight spaces

The Sloped-Roof Stainless Steel Safety Switches incorporate a 15° sloped roof to help facilitate run-off and minimize the harborage of contaminants.  It also has six conduit entry points for flexible installation and 3/4″ stand-offs on the mounting feet to allow adequate space for runoff and inspection behind the switch.

The standard design Stainless Steel Safety Switch series also feature 3/4″ stand-offs on the mounting feet to allow adequate space for runoff and inspection behind the switch and offer eight conduit entry points for installation.

Legrand’s new Stainless Steel Safety Switches join the company’s growing line of Pass & Seymour electrical wiring solutions and Cablofil cable management systems designed to help maintain cleanliness, reduce and prevent corrosion, promote worker safety and maintain uptime in the production and processing industries.  Other Legrand products in this category include the new SteriGuard Antimicrobial Industrial Wiring Devices, Cablofil Wire Mesh Cable Trays, Non-fusible Safety Switches and Straight Blade and Turnlok Ground Continuity Monitoring Plugs and Connectors.
