KRÜ Smart Homes: Living Made Smart

Smart Homes 1

Smart homes are the talk of the day and are becoming more desirous, particularly as the cost of smart technology has come down. A recent IDC report identified the global growth of the smart home market and forecasted growth for the next five years. In 2017, 433 million smart home devices were shipped worldwide, an increase of 27.6% over 2016. IDC forecasts a compound annual growth rate of 18.5% through to 2022. The smart home market is clearly growing, and a number of Canadian companies have arisen to meet this growing demand. KRÜ Smart Homes is one of these unique companies.

Ten years ago, KRÜ Smart Homes was founded to provide for the rising Smart Home and retrofit markets. KRU is located on the North Shore in West Vancouver, British Columbia. They provide turnkey home automation consulting, design, sales and installation services for home owners, builders, designers, and architects throughout the greater Vancouver area.

KRÜ has a philosophy that clients should not have to deal with multiple sub-contractors for the concept, design and implementation of a smart-home system. They have a “one company” mandate that brings all their expertise together to provide consistent project quality control, efficiency and cost-savings for clients.

We all hear a lot about Smart Homes but are not always aware of just what all that entails. KRÜ has developed a definition that encompasses the full abilities of a Smart Home and that identifies their areas of expertise. KRÜ identifies that “home automation is the centralized control of the electronics, entertainment, lights, motors, security, environmental, electrical and scheduling functions of your home. You control all aspects of your home with remote controls, wall keypads, touch screens, computers, tablets and smart phones.”
KRÜ’s team of professionals work with customers to ensure home automation systems meet their requirements, lifestyle, expectations and budget. Smart technology brings homes to life and allows for comforts which when done correctly are technical marvels with most of the technology working behind the scenes. KRÜ works to ensure that smart technology is correctly installed to work trouble free for years.

Aware that not everyone may want the full package, or that different structures require different automation systems KRÜ has developed several started packages that work well for homes, condos and builder solutions.

Smart Homes 2Packages to modernize your condo with smart technology include the starter lighting package, starter AV control, and the single room package.

Home and bundled packages include the single room package, starter 12 load lighting control package (Control4) and the starter 20 load luxury lighting control package (Vantage Controls).

There are also packages designed specifically for builders. KRÜ has been working directly with builders for many years and has develop packages to meet the needs of builders and those who will eventually live in the homes they are constructing. Packages include:

• Spec Homes (designed specifically to enhance your product to prospective buyers)

• Tek Home Staging (turnkey staging solutions to showcase technology entertainment, lighting and control options available to home buyers)

In all KRÜ is a full-service company providing all your electrical, low voltage, security, audio, video, lighting, and home technology needs. This has four key benefits: fewer contractors to deal with, employees who are fully versed on the requirements of the technology being installed, quality control, and efficiency.
