Apr 11, 2019

This recall involves a Matco Tools brand wireless charger, which is an inductive phone charger that is circular in shape. It measures approximately 3.9 inches in diameter and 0.4 inches in height. “Matco Tools” and the Matco company logo are printed in the centre of the charger. About 200 units were sold in Canada; 4,800 in the U.S.

The product was sold with a USB cable for insertion into a laptop or power adapter for an electrical outlet. The wireless charger can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

Anyone with a recalled charger is advised to stop using it and return it to the place of purchase for either a full refund or Matco Tools store credit of equal value.

The chargers were sold exclusively at Matco Tools mobile truck stores from November 2018 through January 2019.
