Service Wire Introduces New PV Wiring Line, ServiceSolar

EIN ServiceWire Solar 400

Oct 10, 2019

As solar becomes a mainstream source of electricity, we must meet the increasing demand for solar applications with high-quality photovoltaic wire and cable that meets the current UL 4703 requirements. To meet that demand, Service Wire has introduced the ServiceSolar brand of PV wire.

ServiceSolar

Single copper conductor, stranded and insulated with moisture and heat resistant, chemically crosslinked polyethylene. Featuring ServicePRO-X® Insulation–No Pulling Lubricant Required (#6 AWG and larger). Rated 2kV to meet the challenging requirements of transformerless inverters on photovoltaic (solar) panel installations.

Application

Suitable for use as interconnection wiring on solar panels in grounded or ungrounded systems as defined in applicable parts of the National Electrical Code (NEC) NFPA 70, such as article 690.31(A). Suitable for use in 105°C dry systems. Also suitable for use in low leakage circuits requiring a dielectric constant of 3.5 or less (Hospital Grade).

Standards:

  • ASTM Standards: B-3 (soft or annealed), B-8 (concentric lay stranded),
  • B787 (combination strand)
  • UL 44 RHW-2, UL 854 USE-2, and UL 4703 PV Wire
  • C(UL) RPVU90 1kV/2kV: CSA C22.2 #271
  • ICEA S-95-658/NEMA WC-70
  • Federal Spec. A-A-59544
  • Flame Rated: VW-1, CT Use (1/0 AWG and larger)
  • Temperature Rated at 90°C Wet/Dry, Cold Temperature Rated at -40°C
