Canadian Electrical Students Face Off in Battle of the Schools II

EIN IDEAL BotS 400

March 10, 2020

This month, IDEAL is asking, “Does your school have what it takes?” and electrical students across Canada are stepping up to prove that their school does.

Over two weeks – the event was originally scheduled for March but has been postponed until late September due to COVID-19 concerns – students will be facing off in the ultimate quest to have their school declared ‘Canada’s Fastest’. To date, over 30 schools and unions in 10 provinces have events planned.

Part of the IDEAL National Championship competition, during Battle of the Schools, students will try their hand at a wiring challenge using IDEAL tools and supplies/they will be judged on speed and accuracy. At the end of each event, scores will be uploaded to the leaderboard on the Battle of the Schools website.

The winning school earns the title ‘Canada’s Fastest School’ which comes with the prize of $1,000 IDEALCa$H, to be used towards IDEAL tools and supplies, as well as a $1,000 donation towards their scholarship fund. On top of this, the fastest school in each of four Canadian regions also receives $1,000 in IDEALCa$H.

The winning student at each school takes home a Tuff Tote leather tool bag, a t-shirt, and bragging rights. Plus, their score is eligible for the IDEAL National Championship competition, where they could have the chance to compete in Nashville, this November, for the top student prize of $40,000 (USD).
