Building Trades Alberta Concerned over “Right-to-Work” Policy

The Building Trades of Alberta (BTA) recently put out an open letter to Alberta Premier, Jason Kenney expressing their concern over legislation passed at the United Conservative Party AGM. The concern for BTA comes down to the legislation potentially lowering wages and reducing benefits, as well as impacting the ability of unions to collectively bargain.
They also expressed concern as to the impact this would have on the broader economy, if wages and benefits come down, Albertans may have less disposable income to contribute to local economies.
