The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP™) provides training and certification for the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle infrastructure such as EV supply stations and systems. This course is an Industry driven collaborative effort.  The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) delivers the highest standard in training and certification for the installation of Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). In partnership with the Government of BC, ECABC and E2 Inc. are pleased to offer the EVITP to British Columbia journeyperson electricians at 50% off the regular cost.*

Course topics:

  • Automobile Manufacturer’s charging specifications
  • EV battery types, charging characteristics
  • Customer service/relations
  • Utility interconnect policies and requirements
  • Utility grid stress precautions
  • Installing, commission and maintaining electrical storage devices
  • Charging station fundamentals
  • Service level assessments and upgrade implementation
  • Canadian Electrical Code requirements
  • First Responder safety and fire hazard measures
  • Site Surveys

Course Schedule:

ONLINE Night Course via ZOOM – 8 online instructor-led online sessions + 3 hour in person EXAM (Full attendance required for exam)

  • Dates:
    • July 5th – 8th, 2021 (Monday-Thursday) and
    • July 12th – 15th, 2021 (Monday-Thursday)
    • Saturday, July 17th, 2021 – Exam (on campus)
  • Hours:
    • online sessions – 5:00pm – 8:00pm
    • exam (on campus) – 9:00am – 12:00pm

To be eligible to receive certification and 50% training cost subsidy from the Province of BC, you must be a journeyperson electrician and must provide your Certificate of Qualification at time of registration. 50% course fee will be refunded upon successful completion of the course.
