EJTC, ECABC, IBEW Local 213 Announce George Ingham Plaza Project

November 17, 2023

The Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) and its partners, the Electrical Contractors Association of BC (ECABC) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213, have launched the George Ingham Plaza Project to celebrate the electrical industry in B.C.

“As we think about the fantastic history of electricity in BC and the people who have shaped it, together with our partners, we are proposing a project that exemplifies this innovation, leadership, and can-do spirit. As a project in BC, built by British Columbians, built for British Columbians, we have developed the following objectives for the George Ingham Plaza at our training center at 1405 Broadway St, Port Coquitlam,” said the EJTC of the new initiative.

“Over the next few months, we will be rolling out the why’s, the who, and the what’s of the George Ingham Plaza project—recognizing with gratitude the contributions of the local indigenous communities using resources to create the plaza that represents BC. The plaza will showcase the latest in clean energy and technology and will be a place where people can rest, reflect upon, and embrace this heritage. We want to celebrate one innovator who exemplifies innovation and leadership in this space. You may not yet have heard of George Ingham, but as we roll out our campaign in the coming months, you will see his seminal contribution in many of these areas.”
