RENO Lighting Launches the First New Long Detection Range (50ft) PIR Sensor

November 22, 2024

RENO Lighting is proud to announce the launch of its new PIR (Passive Infrared) Sensor (R74004), designed to enhance lighting control on LED fixtures such as high bays and vapor tight fixtures with an impressive 50-foot detection range that is designed for installation heights of up to 50ft. This fixture-mounted sensor is the perfect solution for high-ceiling applications, offering advanced motion detection without the potential Wi-Fi interference common with microwave sensors.

Traditionally, microwave sensors have been the go-to choice for applications requiring a long detection range. However, their operation within similar frequency bands to Wi-Fi can sometimes cause interference, weakening or completely disrupting local signals. The new RENO PIR sensor overcomes this challenge, providing reliable performance by detecting motion through changes in infrared radiation, eliminating the risk of Wi-Fi disruption.

Key Features of the New PIR Sensor:

PIR
  • Extended Installation Height – With an impressive extended detection range, it is ideal for applications with high ceilings up to 50ft (15m).
  •  Wide Detection Radius – The sensor covers a 20-foot (6m) detection radius, ensuring comprehensive coverage across larger areas.
  • Advanced Functionality – Features bi-level dimming, daylight harvesting, dusk/dawn sensing, and photocell capabilities for enhanced energy savings and control.
  •  Durable and Weatherproof – With an IP65 rating, the PIR sensor is suitable for use in wet locations, making it versatile for both indoor and outdoor installations.
  • Plug and Play Compatibility – The 3.5mm jack installation type offers easy integration with RENO’s line of Linear Highbays, UFOs, Vapor Tight Highbays, Vapor Tight Linear Fixtures, and Wraparounds.

Perfectly suited for commercial and industrial spaces with high ceilings, this PIR sensor brings a new level of efficiency and reliability to lighting control systems. RENO Lighting is excited to offer this innovative solution, providing superior motion detection while ensuring smooth and uninterrupted Wi-Fi operation.

Availability: The new PIR Sensor is now available for immediate installation in all compatible RENO Lighting fixtures.
