K-Line Highlights Engineering Services on World Engineering Day

The Engineering, Design, & Field Services Divisions of K‑Tek Electro-Services are members of PEO and are the licensed engineering division of the K‑Line Group of Companies.
This division specializes in the design, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of electrical power systems up to 230kV

This multi-discipline division is integral to K-Line’s turnkey operation and offers clients responsive, reliable, and professional services from highly qualified engineers, technologists, and technicians. K‑Tek’s field staff perform acceptance testing in accordance with NETA/ ANSI standards and specifications and follow the OEM recommendations and guidelines for testing, adhering to the relevant industry standards, and all pertinent safety issues.

Practical Knowledge, Experience And Training

Engineering

  • Power systems studies — arc flash & co-ordination studies, short circuit analysis, load flows, harmonic analysis, power factor correction and voltage transient studies by implementation of CYME and EDSA software
  • Grounding system design studies by implementation of SES Autogrid software
  • Troubleshooting and problem analysis
  • Substation design construction and upgrade (230kV)
  • Preparation/evaluation of equipment specifications and tenders
  • Protection and control schemes, design and retrofit

Emergency Services

  • 24/7 response
  • Supply and install generators to keep mission critical systems running
  • Troubleshoot and repair
  • Comprehensive inventory of fuses, lightning arrestors, and cable termination kits
  • Fully equipped bucket trucks
  • Team response of professional engineers, technologists, linesmen and tradesmen as needed

Commissioning

  • Switchgear — OEM-suggested testing and maintenance procedures
  • Transformers
  • Circuit breakers — air, oil, SF6 and vacuum
  • Protective relays — OEM-suggested testing, secondary and primary current injection testing, scheme verification, co-ordination studies and application of settings. Supply, installation, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Grounding system measurements
