Certolux Introduces New MD1U Patient Room LED Luminaire

Certolux’s new MD1U Patient Room Luminaire is a versatile recessed fixture. The MD1U series by Certolux is a recessed IC-rated IP65 standard luminaire suitable for grid and flanged patient room applications and is triple gasketed for a reliable seal. The MD1U is a one-piece housing construction that comes standard with an antimicrobial finish. This luminaire provides an architectural design aesthetics for patient needs with multiple outputs to support the various activities of a patient care space. Available in 2×2 and 2×4, with CRI 80+ and CRI 90+ options, and has multi-level function (Ambient/Reading/Exam).

Features

  • Housing: Precision formed 20 gauge cold rolled steel housing with no visible, external hardware.
  • Mounting: Flange installation is supported by swing style mounting brackets. Grid installation suitable for 1” and 1.5” T-Bar ceilings.
  • Door Frame: One piece door frame, fabricated from 18 gauge, cold rolled steel with TIG welded corners. It is retained by stainless steel aircraft cables. Flat head, stainless steel, captive fasteners with integral silicone O-rings easily secure door frame to housing. Gasket seals door frame to housing.
  • LED: LED board modules are high efficiency and closely regulated to maintain CRI, color consistency, lumen performance, & efficacy. Separately specify CCT, CRI and Lumen choices for ambient and exam modes. Choose from 3000K, 3500K, 4000K,
  • and 5000K color temperatures with a color consistency of 3 SDCM, standard 80 CRI, optional 90 CRI. Lifetime L90 is greater than 60,000 hrs. Modules are field replaceable and commercially available. Tunable White options are also available. Tunable White CCT range is 2700-6500K.
  • Lens: One piece perimeter door frame with clear sealed lens. Internal frosted single piece Polycarbonate diffuser offer high levels of efficiency and visual comfort. Indirect reflectors are precision formed and contoured to provide soft, low-glare, indirect illumination, while maintaining high-efficiency and a wide, uniform light distribution.
  • Finish: Anti-microbial gloss white polyester powder coating for all exterior visible surfaces. 5 stage pretreatment and coated after fabrication. Rated 1000hr salt spray.
  • Electrical: Long life LED’s coupled with high efficiency drivers provide quality illumination. Rated to deliver an L80 performance >50,000 hours. The standard driver has a THD of <10%. Standard low-voltage dimming (0-10v, 1%). All electrical components are CSA/UL approved. A ½” EMT hole is provided for wiring connections.
  • Warranty: 5-year limited warranty.
