Luminis Wins GRANDS PRIX DUDESIGN Award for Pelican

Luminis®, an established innovator and manufacturer of specification-grade, interior and exterior lighting solutions, announced its Pelican family of luminaires has received a GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Award. The exterior luminaires were awarded GOLD CERTIFICATION in the Industrial Design/Lighting Fixture-Outdoor category.

The GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards is an international competition that celebrates the excellence and talent of creative professionals and firms who have distinguished themselves through exemplary practice. Created in Montreal in 2007, the original mission was to recognize the excellence of Quebec designers and architects. The competition was expanded to include international entries in 2020. A multidisciplinary jury of global judges includes leading professionals, prominent academics, and influential press members.

Pelican stands out with its elegant, organic shape that enhances its surroundings, and is designed to integrate seamlessly into various outdoor spaces. Advanced edge-lit technology, composed of LED boards, diffuser, reflector, and drivers, enables Pelican to offer a wide, luminous area. Distributing light evenly across its expansive 24″ x 18″ surface eliminates harsh hotspots and reduces glare to create soft, uniform, and gradual illumination.

Award winners will be celebrated at a gala in Montreal on October 16, 2025.
