BizEnergySaver Program Available in Toronto & Ottawa

October 6, 2025

Commercial buildings in Ottawa and Toronto’s Richview South area can receive direct installation and instant discounts on energy-saving equipment upgrades for lasting benefits.

The Save on Energy BizEnergySaver program is designed to help industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI), and multi-residential building owners and operators make equipment improvements to reduce their energy consumption. The program helps address local electricity system constraints in Ottawa and in the Richview South area in Toronto by offering upfront incentives and direct installation of LED upgrades, adaptive lighting controls in areas such as exit stairwells and parking garages, low and high bay lighting upgrades and controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs) for pump systems and fans, and parking garage exhaust fan controls.

Save energy and reduce your energy bill when you participate in the BizEnergySaver program.

This program is delivered in collaboration with Toronto HydroHydro Ottawa and Hydro One.

Eligibility

  • Participants must be non-residential customers of Toronto Hydro, Hydro Ottawa, or Hydro One
  • Participants must have the rights and authority to have the equipment installed (i.e., either own the facility or have the owner’s permission)

How BizEnergySaver works

The BizEnergySaver program offers participants an easy way to improve their building’s energy efficiency. Here’s how it works:

  1. Call 1-833-934-0778 or complete this form to schedule a free on-site assessment to identify energy-efficiency opportunities for your building(s), which includes, lighting, parking garage exhaust fan controls, and VFDs for pump systems and fans.
  2. After the assessment, you will be provided with options for energy-efficient upgrades that can be installed in your building(s), and the instant discounts you will receive for the purchase and installation of the equipment. If you choose to proceed with one or more options, you will be sent a participant agreement and work order for your review and signature.
  3. Qualified Save on Energy delivery partners will handle the entire installation process on your behalf – everything from scheduling installations with a qualified contractor to project management of the retrofit and clean-up.
