The Electrical Apprentice Training Alliance Aims to Attract the Best Candidates
August 10, 2026
To streamline access, the Alliance now offers an online application process available during specific periods throughout the year based on industry demand. The thorough and lengthy process allows applicants to submit their applications and receive updates on their status.

The application process includes short essay questions, an online aptitude test, and a formal interview conducted by representatives from the Alliance, IBEW Local Union 353, and the Greater Toronto Electrical Contractors Association (ECA).
Sponsored by the Greater Toronto ECA and IBEW Local 353, the Electrical Apprentice Training Alliance has been recruiting and training pre-apprentices and apprentices for over 50 years. To date, more than 8,000 electricians in the GTA have graduated from its elite, industry-recognized program.
Apprenticeship Training Critical to Ontario’s Future
That’s why the contractors in the Greater Toronto Electrical Contractors Association have invested so much in the Electrical Apprentice Training Alliance. The program, operated by Association and the electricians of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 353, ensures each apprentice receives the most complete education available anywhere.
