Ontario Electrical League Brings Free Electrical Industry Roadshow to Barrie September 22

September 9, 2026

The Ontario Electrical League is bringing its Roadshow to Barrie on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and the invitation is simple: if you are part of Ontario’s electrical industry, or interested in becoming part of it, you are welcome.

The free event will bring together independent electrical companies, Licensed Electrical Contractors, business owners, journeypersons, apprentices, distributors, suppliers, manufacturers and other industry professionals for an evening of conversation, connections and opportunities.

You do not need to be an OEL member to attend.

“The electrical industry is made up of so many different people and businesses, and we want to bring them together,” said Beatrice, Executive Director of the Ontario Electrical League. “Whether you own an independent electrical company, work in the trade, distribute or supply the products contractors use, are currently an apprentice or are simply interested in learning more about the industry, there is a place for you at the Roadshow.”

For independent electrical contractors and business owners, the Roadshow is an opportunity to connect with other contractors, meet distributors and industry partners, talk about the challenges and opportunities facing their businesses and learn more about OEL.

For distributors, manufacturers and suppliers, it is a chance to spend time directly with the contractors and electrical professionals who use, specify and purchase their products.

Apprentices are also encouraged to attend to meet contractors and other people working in the industry, build connections and learn about subsidies and supports that may be available to them.

“We don’t want anyone thinking, ‘That event isn’t for me,’” said Jay of the Ontario Electrical League. “If you’re an independent contractor, come. If you’re a distributor or supplier, come. If you’re an electrician or apprentice, come. If you’ve never been involved with OEL before, come meet us. It’s free, everyone in the industry is welcome, and there is no expectation that you already need to be a member.

The Roadshow is intentionally informal. Rather than spending an evening sitting through presentations, attendees have an opportunity to meet each other, have real conversations, ask questions and make connections across the electrical industry.
