Hydro One Injects $5.7 Million into Prescott Infrastructure

Prescott

Hydro One recently announced the completion of $5.7 million of improvements to the electricity infrastructure in the Prescott area. The investment increased the electrical capacity to the area by installing a new 44 kv power line. This improvement will ensure there is enough electrical capacity for the growing Prescott and Morrisburg areas.

“Hydro One works to implement local solutions to meet the needs of the communities we serve,” said Jeff Weekes, Distribution Superintendent, Provincial Lines, Hydro One. “The addition of the new line will support the future growth of these communities and to improve reliability to our customers in the area.”

The Prescott area is prone to lightning strikes which can affect the reliability of the electricity system in the area. Hydro One has also installed additional lightning arresters on its infrastructure to reduce the impact of lightning strikes.
