Eaton Recalls Pole Switches That May Cause Overheating
August 30, 2016
Eaton has announced a recall of 30A General Duty 2 and 3 pole switches made between May 3 and July 19, 2016. The switches contain non-conforming line/load lugs that may cause overheating.
The pole switches show product number DG321NGB, which can be found on the shipping label or next to the Eaton logo inside the unit. Eaton is asking distributors to return un-sold products to them.
The catalogue numbers affected begin with the following sequences, and appear at the top right of the shipping label adjacent to the Eaton logo inside the unit:
- CDG221
- CDG321
- DG221
- DG321
- RGFN221
- RGFN321
- GFN321
Catalogue numbers with an “S” adjacent to them on the shipping label, or switches with a line drawn under the handle sleeve are conforming and do not need to be returned or repaired.
If you are a purchaser of one of these switches, please contact your Eaton representative to initiate a product return and exchange claim.
If you are a distributor, Eaton asks that you advise any purchasers and return un-sold products. For units that cannot be returned, field repair kits are available.
