Alberta Electrical Association Events: Funding Educational Opportunities

Alberta golf days fund educational opportunities

May 14, 2017

This June 1 golf day in Calgary is just one of four events across the province, planned by members of the Alberta Electrical Association, to raise funds for local scholarships and bursaries.

The association had its origins in one of the electrical service leagues. These leagues started across Canada in the 1920s, providing service to its members and promoting the Gold, Silver, and Red Seal Wiring Program throughout Canada, notes a blog on the Alberta Electrical Association website.

The leagues evolved into the Ontario Electrical League, Manitoba Electrical League (now Electrical Association of Manitoba), British Columbia Electrical Association, and the Alberta Electrical League (now the Alberta Electrical Association).

Here are dates and locations for the four golf events:

  • June 1 — Red Deer
  • June 14 — Edmonton
  • August 15 — Lethbridge
  • August 17 — Okotoks
