Black & McDonald is venturing into the Quebec utilities market through the acquisition of Pierre Brossard (1981) Ltée.

Through combining operational expertise and skills under the leadership of Black & McDonald’s Quebec Region, the two family-owned companies consolidate their respective positions in the regional market, to the benefit of both organizations. An established brand in the Quebec market, Pierre Brossard (1981) Ltée will continue to operate under its own trademark, with President Bernard Brossard continuing to guide the company’s day-to-day operations.

The acquisition allows Black & McDonald to diversify its service offering in Quebec and provide utilities services to the region comparable to those offered by the company across Canada and the United States.

“We are confident that this transaction will have a positive impact not only on both companies, but on their employees, customers, suppliers and business partners,” says Quebec Regional V.P. Jean-François Berthiaume.

Black & McDonald is an integrated, multi-trade privately owned Canadian prime contractor serving government, institutions, industry, and commerce across Canada, the United States, and overseas. The company’s services range from multi-million dollar construction projects to extensive facility management and operations contracts, to planned maintenance agreements and emergency services.
