Glen Dimplex Americas Announces Second UL Approved Test Lab

May 17, 2019

Glen Dimplex Americas is proud to announce that its Vancouver facility was recently approved by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) as a remote testing site in its Data Acceptance Program.

Being a part of UL’s Data Acceptance Program (DAP) means that our engineering teams can provide test data to UL during the new item creation process to help with UL certification. And no, that doesn’t mean we’re cutting any corners. It means that UL has audited our engineering lab personnel, equipment, knowledge of safety standards and documentation practices and agrees we meet the same quality standards that they do in their own test labs. UL will audit the facility each year to make sure we stay up to its standards.

“This shows our integrity, knowledge and competency in standards and testing procedures,” said Glen Dimplex Americas Vice President Craig Peterson, who oversees lab operations in the Vancouver facility. “I really value that the people I work with know their stuff and can meet such vigorous standards by an outside agency.”

The organizations Cambridge, Ontario Canada lab was approved several years back. Director of Engineering Stefan Lyssy says, “Having a DAP lab speaks to the quality standards of every product we design. It gives us the knowledge and responsibility to design a safe product right from the beginning.”

We’re honored to be a part of the program and committed to bringing some of the best-engineered, safe products to market with the help of Underwriters Laboratories.
